TRANSISTOR RADIOS – A THING OF THE PAST

DO YOU REMEMBER THE DAYS WHEN TRANSISTOR RADIOS WERE THE BIG THING? I RECALL WHEN I RECEIVED MY FIRST ONE. I WAS IN GRADE SCHOOL AND I RECEIVED IT FOR MY BIRTHDAY. IT WAS ROYAL BLUE WITH AM AND FM STATIONS. GOSH – I THOUGHT IT WAS THE COOLEST THING GOING!! I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I CALLED MY BEST FRIEND TO TELL HER ABOUT IT. I PLAYED THAT RADIO CONSTANTLY AND TOOK IT WITH ME EVERYWHERE I WENT. I WAS SO AMAZED AT THE FACT THAT I COULD TAKE IT ANYWHERE AND LISTEN TO PEOPLE TALK AND LISTEN TO SONGS NO MATTER WHERE I WAS. THAT WAS EXCITING TECHNOLOGY BACK THEN.
TECHNOLOGY TODAY – BOY HAS IT COME A LONG WAY!!! INSTEAD OF A TRANSISTOR RADIO TO EXCITE KIDS, THEY HAVE THEIR IPODS. KIDS TODAY HAVE THE SAME EXCITEMENT WITH THEIR IPODS AS I DID WHEN I HAD MY TRANSISTOR RADIO . I HAVE TO ADMIT THE IPODS ARE MORE FUN! THEY ARE SLEEKER WITH A LOT MORE GADGETS ON THEM TO PRESS AND MORE COLORFUL THAN THE TRANSISTOR RADIO WAS. IF YOU HAVE A VIDEO IPOD THAT’S EVEN BETTER! IPODS TODAY CAN HOLD MORE SONGS THAN I THINK ANYONE CAN NAME. THEY ARE A LOT SMALLER THAN THE TRANSISTOR RADIO WAS.
TECHNOLOGY HAS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER. I COULD NEVER HAD ENVISIONED WHILE LISTENING TO MY COOL TRANSISTOR RADIO THAT THE IPOD WAS IN THE FUTURE. BUT I AM GLAD IT IS AND FROM THE LOOKS OF THINGS SO IS EVERYONE ELSE.
